Aussie YouTuber Lazarbeam joins Fortnite

March 3, 2021

Fortnite, you may have heard of it, isn’t short of skins and add-ons but it’s always something to celebrate when there’s wider recognition of Australian talent on the world stage. As part of Fortnite’s “Icon Series’, celebrating content creators who have contributed to building Fortnite’s global community, Aussie Youtuber Lannan “Lazarbeam” Eacott will be added to the game, and he’s bringing some other Aussie icons with him.

For one, his outfit includes a traditional hi-vis shirt and belt, with a less-traditional sledge hammer. As part of the “Lazarbeam Bundle”, other in-game wearable items include a “Baby Gingy” Back Bling, and the “Lunch Break” emote, which lets players partake in national pastime, eating a meat pie.

“I’m excited to share a slice of Australian culture with the global Fortnite community,” said Lazarbeam. “It’s surreal seeing yourself depicted in a video game like Fortnite, so I was eager to add some Australian inspiration from my tradie roots when designing the Outfit and Bundle. And who doesn’t love a meat pie?”

The bundle is available for purchase from 11AM AEDT on 5 March.
