Animal Crossing New Leaf Receiving Amiibo Support

Nearly four years after it’s Western release, one of the 3DS’s most popular titles, Animal Crossing: New Leaf  is receiving an update this spring, to add new content and features revolving around amiibo support.

The free update will allow for players to use any of their Animal Crossing amiibo cards to have the animal depicted on the card visit your town and potentially move in.

The Animal Crossing amiibo figures will also be compatible, but it is unsure exactly how they will function in the game.

Nintendo also teased that other non-Animal Crossing amiibo will be supported, with some Splatoon themed items and characters shown off in one of the screenshots.

There is nothing more he loves than getting together, either online or offline with a bunch of fellow gamers, to yell at each other until we just want to punch one another in the throat while discussing video games.
