Angry Birds Space Downloaded 10 Million Times In 3 Days

March 28, 2012

Rovio Entertainment’s massively popular Angry Birds series is breaking records with its latest entry, Angry Birds Space. Rovio announced the download figures for the first three days of release via their Twitter account, where they made this statement: “10 million Angry Birds Space downloads in less than 3 days! Thanks to our fans, stay tuned for more!”. The game was paid for and downloaded over 10 million times in the three days since its release on the 22nd of March. Angry Birds Space brings an entirely new physics engine to the table, and features new gameplay which makes heavy use of gravity. Players will have to think about both their bird’s trajectory, as well as the effect that the gravity field will have on their flight. The pigs are back, and are harder to hit than ever because of this new layer of protection. It’s a layer than can be turned against them by clever players, however.

Angry Birds Space sells for just 99 cents on Apple’s App Store, and is available for free (with ads) on the Android Marketplace, though there’s an ad-free version of the game on the way. There’s also a seperate HD version for iPad, which costs a little more. PC and Macintosh gamers can get their hands on the game through Rovio’s online store, or Apple’s Mac App Store respectively.
