2K Games’ Battleborn has only just launched, and already new content and events are on the way for the game’s player base.

Alani, the first of five new free playable characters will be available from 24 May for Season Pass and PS4 Open Beta participants, and 31 May for all platforms.

Alani hails from the Eldrid faction, raised as a healer but forced to become a warrior. From an oceanic planet, her abilities revolve around controlling water to dole out damage or heal her comrades.

In addition, a Double XP event has been announced running from today (Friday 20 May) to Wednesday 25 May for all players from Story Mode episodes and Competitive Multiplayer matches.
