Aladdin and The Lion King remasters officially announced

August 29, 2019

It has been officially announced that remasters of the 90’s Aladdin and The Lion King games will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC on 29th October this year. The announcement follows a leak that hit the internet yesterday.

The games will be released as a single pack, containing several different versions of each title. This includes versions released on the Sega Mega Drive, Game Boy, Super Game Boy (suggested to be a colour-enhanced edition of the Game Boy version) and the Super Nintendo version of The Lion King. Notably the Super Nintendo version of Aladdin will not be included in the collection, likely due to that version being developed by Capcom meaning there may be licensing issues.

All games will display in 1080p resolution, but there will also be different screen filters and other display options. Other additions include the Disney’s Aladdin Trade Show demo which has not been publicly playable since 1993, a Sound Test mode where you can listen to the game soundtracks and a Museum that lets you view concept art and behind the scenes-style videos. Players will also be able to rewind gameplay up to 15 seconds or sit back and enjoy Watch mode.
