A Total War Saga: TROY

You may have heard of the Total War series before, from its historic settings to its more fanciful games in the Warhammer universe, The Creative Assembly franchise has been around for a hell of a long time. A couple of years ago they release their first game in a brand new subseries, A Total War Saga: Thrones of Brittania. The new series of Total War games are shorter, more focused affairs that focus in on specific eras of time, instead of the longer time periods of the main games in the series. The latest game in the Total War Saga, A Total War Saga: TROY has just been announced, as well as the fact that the game will be free for 24 hours when it launches exclusively on the Epic Games Store.

A Total War Saga: TROY is the first game in the Total War franchise to go to the Bronze Age, the earliest time period the franchise has ever gone to. It focuses in on the Trojan War, with players assuming the identities of legendary heroes such as Achilles, Hector and many more. You’ll fight to defend the city of Troy, assuming that’s the avenue you decide to take.

SEGA Europe’s Chief Studios Officer Tim Heaton had this to say about the game’s release on EGS:

“Thanks to Epic, we’re able to offer a Total War title for free on its launch day. It’s a hugely exciting thing for us to be able to do for our players. Not only does this mean that we can bring the tales and legends of TROY to a wide audience through Epic’s massive platform, but it also means new players will get to try Total War for the first time, experiencing the unique gameplay that the series is famous for.”

A Total War Saga: TROY launches exclusively on the Epic Games Store on August 13th 2020, with game scheduled for release on other PC storefronts in August 2021.
