Pokemon 20th Anniversary 2DS’s Coming to Australia

Nintendo has announced on twitter that the 20th Anniversary Pokemon 2DS consoles, recently announced for release in Japan, will be coming to Australia in February. Available in translucent red, blue and yellow, each 2DS comes with a corresponding copy of Pokemon Blue, Red or Yellow pre-installed, a sheet of 15 stickers and a download code for a special home theme.

This is only the beginning of Nintendo’s plans for Pokemon’s 20th anniversary, with two new New 3DS faceplates also being announced, a new trading card set called Generations, and a Super Bowl advert will be run in the US. There are also plans to distribute a Mythical Pokemon each month, beginning with Mew in February, however details for Australia haven’t been announced.

The Pokemon 2DS consoles will launch on February 27th, at a RRP of $149.95, alongside the 2 new faceplates. So get ready for a massive year of Pokemon, and stay tuned to Rocket Chainsaw for any new information
