1TB Xbox One and New Controller Revealed

June 10, 2015

Overnight Microsoft has announced that a new 1TB Xbox One console is coming to Australia. The new console will not come with the Kinect sensor and will be matte black as opposed to the half-matte, half-glossy black of the current console.

Available on June 24th at a RRP of $549, the console will come bundled with a download token for Halo: The Master Chief Collection as well as a new version of the Xbox One controller.

The new controller will replace the proprietary audio jack for the same 3.5mm jack currently found in Sony’s Dual Shock 4 controller. This means that you will be able to plug in any set of headphones or earphones you currently have that use a 3.5mm jack directly into your controller.

Other improvements to the new controller include an upgrade to the much maligned bumpers, which can now be pressed at any point along their length and do not click, as well as the ability to update the controller’s firmware wirelessly.

With these changes and the ongoing OS changes Microsoft has been making, they have shown that they are listening to fans feedback and are willing to make changes where necessary. So keep that feedback coming through and watch Rocket Chainsaw for any further Xbox and Microsoft news!
