Wasteland 3 Announced

September 29, 2016

Inxile Entertainment have announced that after the team currently working on Torment: Tides of Numenera will be transitioning over to a new project once it is completed. In this case, the project they’re transitioning over to is Wasteland 3, which is set to be a massive upgrade on Wasteland 2, and will be developed for PC, mac, Linux, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Trading the desert for an arctic wasteland, Wasteland 3 will have you combating sub-zero temperatures as you struggle to survive in the world. This isn’t the only change, with Inxile also expanding Wasteland 3 to include co-op, vehicles, your own ranger base and more. They’re promising a revamped action system that will allow for deeper combat mechanics, a trademark complex story and a newly-revamped dialog tree system. Overall, it sounds like Wasteland 3 will be a step in the right direction for the series, with the currently released prototype screenshots also showing a marked upgrade in graphics.

Inxile is looking to fund development of Wasteland 3 through Fig, of which Brian Fargo is a board member, with a goal of $2.75 million.
