If you’re one of the many fighting game fans waiting for Team Ninja’s latest instalment of the Dead Or Alive series, then you’re sure to love this. Tecmo Koei have released a new trailer for the game’s Hot Zone stage, which also shows off two new playable characters, Christie and Bayman. Both of them are returning fighters from 2006′s Dead Or Alive 4. With Dead Or Alive 5 going with a more realistic graphical style than its predecessors, the two characters look a bit different this time around, but are as deadly as ever. Christie is a British assassin who has mastered the Shequan (Snake Fist) fighting style. Bayman, on the other hand, is a former Russian commando who specializes in the Combat Sambo fighting style. The game’s producer, Yosuke Hayashi, has said in the past that his team is “committed to making the environment more involved in the fighting experience than ever before”. This is certainly evident when you see the game in action, and Team Ninja seem to be aiming to give the game a rather cinematic look.
As you can see, it’s certainly pushing the boundaries of realism in a fighting game, even going as far as including a system which allows fighters to visibly sweat over the course of a battle. This is particularly noticeable during Christie’s victory pose at the end of the trailer. Dead or Alive 5 will be released in Australia during September this year.

Nice. Getting amped for this!
