Team Ninja’s latest fighter, Dead or Alive 5, is shaping up nicely. They’ve started releasing new videos which show off playable characters and stages that we haven’t seen yet, and today’s video has a circus theme. Returning fighters Lei Fang and Zack make their appearance, battling it out under the big top. Lei Fang is 19 years old, and a college student from China. She’s also a master of the T’ai chi ch’uan fighting style, and demonstrates some sharp, quick strikes which leave Zack reeling.
Zack himself is an African-American DJ, who practises the Muay Thai boxing style. His heavy-hitting strikes leave Lei Fang staggered, allowing him to pull off a longer combo. Both fighters show off their charged attacks, and the stage itself plays a big role, with tigers jumping into the fray. The big finish comes when Zack is knocked into a giant clown head, and then ejected in comical fashion, earning Lei Fang a victory. Check out the trailer below.
Dead or Alive 5 is set for a worldwide release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September this year.
