In their latest financial report, Ubisoft has revealed the games we can expect to be released over the next thirteen months.
The list mostly contains already known titles including South Park: The Fractured but Whole, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: WildLands and For Honor. Interestingly, a sequel to Watch Dogs is also mentioned.
It’s been known for a while the company was working on a Watch Dogs sequel. In 2015 Creative Director, Jonathan Morin, mentioned he was in early planning stages and that the sequel would have to appeal to audiences “in a new way”. Later, a programmer’s Linkedin profile mentioned they were working on the game. This is, however, the first formal acknowledgement a sequel is planned for release.
As we reported earlier this year, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has also been confirmed to be taking a break this year. Ubisoft commented they’re “re-examining the Assassin’s Creed franchise” and they’re “[evolving] the game mechanics … to make sure [they’re] delivering on the promise of Assassin’s Creed offering unique and memorable gameplay experiences”.
