Frozenbyte have announced today that the Steam version of Goblin Menace will be released on the 6th of September. Goblin Menace is an expansion pack for their popular platform puzzler, Trine 2, which adds six original levels as part of a new campaign mode, as well as new character skills which can be used with the existing content. The pack will set you back about $7. Frozenbyte’s roll out of the new content is a little unorthodox, though.
To test out the new content, Frozenbyte have already patched the Steam version. All owners of the Collector’s Edition of Trine 2 can now have a taste of the new content as it’s being prepared, up until the launch date. To tie-in with this, Frozenbyte are requesting feedback from players on their forum. The Goblin Menace expansion pack also includes fixes and tweaks for the game, as well as some highly requested features, including player direction indicators. Frozenbyte also mentioned that the WiiU version of the game, Trine 2: Director’s Cut, will come with the expansion pack on the disc.
