Torchlight II up for pre-order

April 27, 2012

While we’re all hyped for Diablo III next month, it’s worth noting that there’s another high-profile dungeon crawler on the horizon, in the form of the sequel to Runic Games’ excellent 2009 hit, Torchlight.

The good news is that you can now pre-order Torchlight II from both Steam and Perfect World Entertainment. Steam pre-orders get a bonus copy of the original Torchlight, which is great news for the three people who still don’t actually own a copy.

According to Runic Games’ CEO Max Schaefer:

“As we put the finishing touches on Torchlight II, it made sense to start pre-orders after the great response we received at PAX-East. Fans have asked us for a pre-order, and we are planning an imminent network test, so the timing was perfect.”

If you’re put off by the idea of always-online single-player, or the real-money auction house or just don’t like Diablo III in general, then Torchlight II could be an excellent alternative. You can find more information about the game on its official website.
