Titanfall 2’s first DLC pack dated, detailed

November 23, 2016

Respawn has taken to the Titanfall blog to announce details of Titanfall 2’s first DLC pack, Angel City: Most Wanted.

The company reiterated previous statements that all future DLC that affects gameplay, including new gameplay modes and weapons, will be free for all players. This is to maintain a healthy community by not separating the player base.

With Angel City: Most Wanted, however, an in-game store will be introduced that will allow players to purchase cosmetic items, such as skins, camo and Prime Titans. There will be two Prime Titans released at launch, featuring new chassis and assassinations, but will function the exact same way as their original counterparts. Paid DLC will not be locked to loot boxes, crafting shards or pay-to-win weaponry – once you buy it that’s it.

On the free DLC side, a remake of the original Titanfall’s Angel City map will be released. Fans who pre-ordered Titanfall 2 will gain access to the map from November 30, while everyone else will get access from December 3. Also being added are the new Wingman Elite Pistol weapon and the following Titan Kits:

  • Ion: Refraction Lens – Splitter Rifle splits 5 ways
  • Scorch: Scorched Earth – Flame Core ignites the ground, leaving thermite in its wake
  • Northstar: Threat Optics – Enemies are highlighted while zooming in
  • Tone: Burst Loader – Aiming allows the 40mm to store up to 3 shots to burst fire
  • Legion: Hidden Compartment – Power Shot has two charges
  • Ronin: Phase Reflex – When doomed, Ronin phases out of danger

Other additions include an improved stats screen, FAQ menu and Pilot Execution Inner Pieces, which let “players phase into an unsuspecting victim”.

Respawn also noted that they’re hard at work on other changes and more DLC in the future, but will not give specific details until next year. They did however, mention double XP weekends were coming as well as Game Mode Twists, where “twists” change up the rules of certain game types.
