January 13, 2017

Maxis and Electronic Arts today revealedĀ The Sims 4 toddler update is coming, and it’s free. Fans of the series have been requesting the toddler age to be included in The Sims 4 since the game’s release in 2014, and EA were happy to oblige to fans, stating ‘We’ve added over a hundred new animations, dozens of new interactions, and great new suitses of outfits and objects. But most importantly, we’ve bridged a really meaningful part of your Sims’ lives.‘ Previously players would experience the birth of a baby, and then the baby magically became a child, completely skipping a key developmental period of growing up.

For those of us who have a real-life toddler, we’re not really sure why you would want to simulate one in a game, and how it could possibly be found to be enjoyable, but it does allow you to form even more of a bond with your child before they grow up and face the challenges of The Sims 4 world.

The Sims 4 is available on Windows PC and Mac, and there are still no plans for it to make its way to consoles, despite previous titles being ported across. The Sims 4 toddler update is 1.9 GB and will download automatically the next time you load the game’sĀ launcher, or Origin.
