Telltale reportedly working on Guardians of the Galaxy game

November 15, 2016

Last year Telltale Games revealed that they were working on a game based on a Marvel franchise and were planning to release it in 2017. The company has remained tight-lipped about the project since, but ComicBookMovie has now uncovered evidence the game will be based on the Guardians of the Galaxy series.

The report stems from a document released by the SAG-AFTRA, a voice actor union, which highlights projects that have been affected by its members’ ongoing strike. The document mentions a Guardians of the Galaxy project, codenamed Blue Harvest, and The Walking Dead Season 3. Both titles are listed as being attributed to O’Farrel Enterprises, LLC, a company registered under Darragh O’Farrell. O’Farrell has been the voice over producer for several Telltale titles including The Walking Dead and Tales from the Borderlands.

It’s interesting to note that Blue Harvest was the codename used for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi during production, used to hide filming locations from fans and the media who might have been snooping around set.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 is expected to hit the silver screen in May 2017, the same year Telltale mentioned their Marvel project would be released.
