During this morning’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced that they are bringing a brand new tank battle IP to the 3DS titled Tank Troopers.

In Tank Troopers you will choose from a selection of ttank-pilots, each with their own special abilities, and then take them out into the field to destroy your enemies in some tank on tank mayhem. Some of the special abilities you will find in the game include freeze attacks, paintballs that obscure the opponents vision and shock attacks that stall them for a short period of time.

Tank Troopers will come with an offline mode, a six player local multiplayer mode and download play mode, and will be released sometime in 2017.
