Super Mario Run comes to Android in March

January 19, 2017

Controversy surrounded Nintendo for releasing Super Mario Run only on iOS platforms in December last year. At the time, the company noted that the hardware for iOS devices was similar whereas Android was trickier to develop for due to the operating system being used on devices from several different manufactures. There were also issues surrounding the game’s “always online” nature that Nintendo were trying to resolve.

Today, Nintendo Japan has Tweeted that Android users will finally get to play Super Mario Run in March. Pre-registration on Google Play is now available, with an exact release date to be announced closer to launch.

Super Mario Run is dubbed as a “free to start” title from Nintendo, allowing gamers to play the first three levels for free before costing AUD$12.99 to continue.
