The hubbub around E3 isn’t quite over yet, but if you’re after something new to play while waiting for all the news Rocket Chainsaw has about what we saw at the expo, Steam has a couple of great titles on sale this weekend. This weekend you have a pick between two marvelous time killers – Cities XL and Napoleon: Total War.

Cities XL gives you the opportunity to build and connect cities of all sorts with the choice of almost 1,000 buildings and structures. The game also features solid strategic gameplay; as the mayor of your cities, manage your resources to answer to your citizens’ demands and the economic environment.  Cities XL is 75% off for this weekend, bringing the price from USD$39.99 to USD$10.00.

The other game is Napoleon, from Sega’s classic Total War franchise, with the version being offered on Steam being the Imperial Edition. In this edition, play through a series of strategic military campaign with the help of elite units such as the 7th Lancers from France, or the 1st Hussars from Austria. Napoleon is in the spotlight as Steam’s Free Weekend game, with the full game at 50% off if you decide to buy it.
