Sony Announce LittleBigPlanet Vita Release Date

August 3, 2012

Love being creative? Well, you won’t have too long to wait, as Sony have finally announced the PAL release date for LittleBigPlanet PS Vita. The game will be available in Europe on the 19th of September, and a local Australian release is sure to follow soon after (or possibly happen simultaneously). Set in the new world of Carnivalia, the game has been designed similarly to LittleBligPlanet 2, intended to be a ‘platform for games’. Players will have access to a wide range of tools, and will be able to make anything from a complex platforming level to a simple racing game.

You’ll be able to use the Vita’s camera to take pictures of objects in your environment, and import them into the game, as well as shape your levels directly by using the touch screen to draw. The game will include all the tools which were featured in LittleBigPlanet 2, so if you’ve played that game, then you’ll feel right at home. Every creation in the game will be published to the LittleBigPlanet community website, www.lbp.me. EB Games are offering a pre-order bonus for the game, featuring a plush toy and two sets of costume DLC. The Bioshock DLC includes a Big Daddy and Little Sister outfit, while the Knights of Old DLC includes a Knight, Black Knight, Damsel in Distress and Dragon costume.

Sony also released a new trailer to accompany the announcement:
