Sony to Agressively Enter Mobile Games

Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai has announced during an interview with the Financial Times that Sony will be agressively entering the mobile games market following the success of Niantic’s Pokemon GO. Previously, Sony had largely used mobiles games as a way to market their upcoming console games or add additional features, as opposed to as a money making venture.

The monumental success of Pokemon GO, which broke numerous records in its first month in the market, will likely have many non-moral facing developers looking into the mobile market and how they can enter the market. Hirai has confirmed that he also wants AR elements to be present in Sony’s mobile games, similar to Pokemon GO.
