PlayStation First Australian Partnership Announced

October 27, 2015

PlayStation First, the Academy of Interactive Entertainment and Sydney-based game studio Nnooo have announced a new partnership in which they will identify and fast track talented student teams under the PlayStation First programme.

The programme will provide support to talented students while getting access to the relevant tools and training to development commercial games, including access to the full PlayStation SDK. On top of this training, students will also have the option to publish their games through Nnooo, on the PlayStation Network.

In their first united showcase in Australia, PlayStation First, AIE and Nnooo will be presenting at the PlayStation Stand at Pax Australia from Friday October 30 through to Sunday November 1.

Eight student creators will be present to showcase and provide demos of the current Australian games in development, including:

  • Rumble Academy
  • Retrovision
  • Desperate Mile
  • Necroman

As well as these, they will also be introducing PIECEFALL to Australian audiences, the first student game being developed out of Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.

So make sure you take some time out of your days at PAX to head over and show some support for a programme that will surely help set up the Australian Indie developers of the future!
