Picross 3D: Round 2 Releases December 3rd

November 26, 2016

Lovers of puzzle games should get ready for some intensely mind boggling puzzle action when Picross 3D: Round 2 launches for the Nintendo 3DS on December 3 2016. For those who haven’t played a Picross game in the past, the game works similarly to Minesweeper, where you need to fill in the correct squares on a grid, except this time the number are on the top and side of the grid and you’re trying to create a picture.

Picross was a revelation when it was released on the Nintendo DS in 2007, after Mario’s Picross commercially failed in the West in 1995, and that success continued when the Picross 3D released on Nintendo DS in 2009. After 7 long years fans of the unique 3D puzzle game will finally be able to get back into the action again, this time in a Parisian-style cafe while listening to the calming tunes.

With the advent of the amiibo having happened, Picross 3D: Round 2 will also support amiibo functionality, in this case unlocking new puzzles for you to play. The current list of supported amiibo is relatively small, but this is something that could potentially be updated in the future. Currently, Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Yoshi, Peach, Toad Link, Kirby, Meta Knight and King Dedede are supported.
