Persona 5 Delayed, JP Voices To Be Free DLC

November 17, 2016

During a Twitch stream for Persona 5, Atlus have announced that the game will no longer be releasing on its originally planned date of Valentines Day 2017. Instead, the game will now release on April 4, 2017.

The reason given for the delay was due to quality issues, however, considering the game is already released in Japan the issues are unlikely to be with the game itself. What seems more likely is that the localisation hasn’t turned out as well as they had hoped and so a delay was needed for some extra work. Considering the number of games coming out in the first free months of 2017, it’s also likely that they wanted to move the game to a date where they had less competition for gamer’s money.

As a result of the delay, the Japanese voice track for Persona 5 will now be included as free DLC on launch day.

Persona 5 will now release for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 on April 4 2017.
