PAX Australia will be held in Melbourne

Aussies all over the country have rejoiced since the news broke that the famous PAX convention was heading to Australia next year, but debate arose over which city would get the privilege of hosting the event? Kotaku believe they have the answer.

Kotaku were sent a sales document indicating that PAX Australia will be held in Melbourne, at the Melbourne Showgrounds between July 19-21, 2013, organised locally by ReedPOP.

Members of the games industry will be aware that most events are held in Sydney, and even the EB Expo got its start in Brisbane last year. Melbourne hosting the first PAX Australia is a big win for the city, and hopefully will encourage more games events in the area. So, who’ll be joining us next year?

Oh hell yeah, I’ll be there. I’ve flown over to Seattle for the last 2 years to get to Pax Prime, I’d be stupid not to go to something just down the road. :P
