This week’s Nintendo Store Update is once again dominated by the 3DS, with no updates for the Wii. Handheld fans can get to grips with the knowledge that not only can you download a demo of Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olymnpic Games ,you can now also pick up the NES classics Super Mario Bros. and Punch-Out!!

Easily one of the most re-released video games of all time, the original Super Mario Bros has made its way to the 3DS eShop to be purchased by all. However, those who were early adopters of the 3DS and managed to register their consoles online would have already received it. The very same warp-piping, mushroom-huffing, koopa-stomping mayhem is presented again in all of its colourful 8-bit glory for the handheld system.

A pugilistic favourite for the ages, Punch-Out!! sees players take on the role of Little Mac, a plucky pint-sized puncher from the Bronx who steps into the boxing ring in an effort to become the heavyweight champion of the world. The key to success in Punch-Out!! isn’t necessarily strength or speed but technique, with players relying on pattern recognition to time their blows against opponents. In amongst the crazy animations and over the top characters, only two things are certain for this re-release: punches will be thrown, and bikes will be re-stolen.
