Nintendo to Ship Two Million Switch Consoles In March

January 17, 2017

After massive shortages for amiibos in their early life and with the NES Mini in the lead up to Christmas, Nintendo fans would be rightfully concerned about the number of Nintendo Switch consoles that will be able on its March 3 launch.

Nintendo have moved to reassure fans that thete will be plenty of stock on launch day, with Reggie Fils-Aime confirming that two million Nintendo Switch consoles will be available worldwide through the launch month of March in an interview with Wired.

While this may not seem like a large amount of consoles to have available in the opening month, if every console sold this would on par with the launch sales of the PlayStation 4 and availability massive success. With a number of US retailers already selling out of their initial allocations of preorders, we may just see Nintendo hitting that number, but we won’t know for sure until after March 3.
