Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for Vita release date announced

May 25, 2012

Konami announced today, via press release, that the long-awaited Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be finally hitting the PlayStation Vita on 5 July in Australia.

The Vita version is missing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, instead including Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. However,  both include Konami’s ‘Transfarring’ system, which allows players who are crazy enough to own Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on both Vita and PS3, to transfer their save files from one to the other and keep playing where they left off.

On Vita, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection takes advantage of the front and rear touch controls to zoom in during cutscenes, perform quick knife attacks, interrogate guards, peek around corners and cycle through items and weapons.
