Kirby: Planet Robobot, series amiibo revealed

March 4, 2016

Nintendo has announced a new Kirby game will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS.

Titled Kirby: Planet Robobot, the game will see Kirby fighting an invading force of robots who are mechanising Dreamland. Kirby will have both old and new copy-abilities, with a total 27 possible forms to discover. The main new feature of the game is that Kirby will be able to take control of his new enemies’ robotic technology and control mechs. The mechs can destroy obstacles in Kirby’s path and also use 10 different copy-abilities themselves. Amiibo support has also been confirmed, with each figurine giving Kirby copy-abilities completely on the fly.

There’s a co-op mode called Team Kirby Clash, where up to four players team up to take on enemy bosses. Players can assume the role of a mage, doctor, sword or hammer wielder and must utilise their strengths to take down the enemy. Download Play is available for players who do not own a copy of the game.

A new Kirby series of Amiibo will be released alongside the game. The figurines will include Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee.

Kirby: Planet Robobot and the Kirby series Amiibo are slated for release on 11 June, 2016 in Australia.
