Injustice: Gods Among Us announced

June 1, 2012

The fine folk at NetherRealm studios, those same guys and gals that gave us the banned Mortal Kombat reboot, have announced their next game. It’s titled Injustice: Gods Among Us and it’s all about the DC Universe.

Announced via press release, Injustice: Gods Among Us will tap into Warner Bros. ownership of the DC Universe properties, throwing classic super heroes, villains and characters familiar to fans of Batman, Superman and more against one-another. Yep, it’s a fighting game, and marks the second brawling DC Universe title from NetherRealm studios, who also developed Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.

Players can expect punching, kicking and all kinds of equipment and powers used by the large cast of characters, as they beat the hell out of one another across what is described as a ‘deep, original story’.

Scheduled for release in 2013 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii U, DC fans can look forward to hearing more at E3 2012. In the meantime, check out the debut trailer below, as well as the official website.
