During their media preview at Paris Games Week, Sony announced Gran Turismo Sport.

The game will have an emphasis on online racing. In particular, players will be able to compete in two FIA online championships including the Nations Cup which has you represent your country, and the Manufacturers Cup where you represent your favourite car manufacturer. The winner of each championship will be awarded at the FIA prize giving ceremony, in the same manner as real-life motorsport champions.

Fear not if you’re not into competitive racing scene – Sony promises Gran Turismo Sport will continue the franchise’s legacy of being accessible to all. The game is expected to be released some time in 2016, with a beta to begin during the Easter holiday season.
