Come join us on Mumble (details below), where we talk crap and play games. Every Friday night we get together to hang out, usually we do/play what sounds fun.

Anyone is free to decide prior what they think we should play, if it sounds good then it gets thrown in the thread title and becomes 'official' or if nothing is decided upon we'll usually just decide as people arrive.

Typically the first 30-60 minutes is spent chatting while we get setup/decide games (and people eat dinner *coughmecough*).

Feel free to use the server however and whenever you like. If there's a channel you'd like to see created, feel free to create it yourself (temporary channels are enabled for all users, don't hesitate to ask if you need a hand.

Questions and suggestions are much appreciated.

I think I got it right... I have adjusted your time as you are in Brisbane and only a couple of people are running your time, others are running AEDT (daylight savings) and the more Western states have a different time again.

Is that OK?

heh nah i often par take in voice chat iv just never jumped in to a room full of people on mics is all( like more then 4 people with different interests) , most of the time im normally playing a game wili all this is taking place

Although disorganised, laughs and funs were had, so I'd call it a success.

Started off with us trying to decide games and me trying to finish cooking dinner (took longer than expected), it was hard trying to find something that mikezilla could play with his lack of PC games and thermal paste on his CPU

We decided to play Planet Side 2, but the download didn't finish for any of us until way too late. So not much gaming ended up happening, me and Alex played L4D2 now Alex and Denny have moved on to Black Ops 2 (which I'm not really sure if to buy yet).

Thanks to Alex, Denny, Me, mikezilla, Jesse for showing up (12,500 forks for you all!) and to BEES and Nina for showing up after it 'finished.'

I'll post some more tomorrow, time to head to bed now.

Going to keep this contained to the one thread, I'm going to fix up the OP and add more info. Everyone's all good to start offering ideas/suggestions for next week.

Would there be any interest in playing SNES or other retro games online? It sounds really easy to set up.

I deleted the beta files this morning in readiness for the full game, and with all the additional patches it came in over 10g. Just fyi.

It's weird that they aren't going to do any type of a preload. Servers are going to take a beating at launch.

To be fair they're going to take less of a beating if there was preloading. This way it will be staggered by those who have faster next connections.

Main post updated, not cluttered and shit any more, yay. Added a link to the achievement spreadsheet (which does a good job of demonstrating how bad I am at spreadsheets).

I was going to play PS2 beta today, but didn't realised it had ended, so if anyone has some ideas for some stupid achievements that would be awesome. Also looking for possible weekly ones that could be fun.

If there's enough interest, Week 3's game might be Battlefield 1942 (possibly in the awesome desert combat mod that Alex helped develop), which you can get for free here (or on origin). I'm not sure how long this deal is going to last (or if it even ends) so you might want to get it now.
