Fire Emblem, Smash Bros Amiibo bundles heading to Aus?

August 19, 2016

New Zealand retailer Mighty Ape has listed Amiibo bundles for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Fire Emblem Fates: Brithright/Conquest.

What makes these particular bundles interesting, however, is that they appear to feature official Nintendo packaging with an OFLC logo on the front. Mighty Ape are known to stock Australian games, which suggests the bundles will be coming to local retailers.

The bundles contain a copy of their respective game, a Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader and either a Samus, Marth or Ike Amiibo. The 3DS NFC Reader peripheral is designed for older Nintendo 3DS and 2DS systems which do not have NFC technology built into the device. It allows the systems to read and write to Amiibos.

Nintendo Australia has yet to make an official announcement concerning the bundles, but Mighty Ape lists their release date as September 22. We have included the packshots below.

UPDATE:  Shortly after we published this article, Nintendo Australia confirmed the bundles will be coming to Australia on September 22 and will have a suggested retail price of AU$69.95 each.
