Destiny sequel still planned for 2017 release

February 10, 2017

In a slideshow attached to their earnings call today, Activision has said a “full Destiny sequel” will be released in 2017. The announcement follows rumors that the title had been delayed, with speculators often citing the lack of any news as evidence.

Not a lot of official information has been revealed, though like the original add-on content is planned and the publisher also hopes to broaden the franchise’s international reach.

Following the original Destiny’s release in 2014, developer Bungie has continued to support the game and its community by releasing title updates and a range of add-on content include The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, Rise of Iron and, most recently, The Dawning which brought back competitive racing.
