THQ Nordic has announced, via the Darksiders Steam Community page, that users who owned the original Darksiders on Steam can upgrade to the Warmaster Edition for free. The Warmaster Edition will automatically appear in owners’ game libraries, though they may be required to restart the Steam client for it to appear.

To celebrate the game’s launch on Steam, Darksiders Warmaster Edition is also currently discounted by 80%, costing a mere US$3.99 (approx. AUD $5.33).

Darksiders: Warmaster Edition is a remaster of the original Darksiders. It features a number of improvements including an increased native resolution of 1080p, improved shadow effects, doubled texture resolution and a smooth frame rate of 60fps. It is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, PC and is in development for Wii U.
