Daily Gaming News – 19/12/12

December 19, 2012

In a week’s time, Christmas will be over and we Aussies will have moved on to the madness of the Boxing Day sales. Speaking of madness, here is some video game crazy to keep you going through the week.

——————————————————————————————————————————

  • NEWS: A big, fat congratulations to Ubisoft Montpellier and Pasta Games, whose iOS game Rayman: Jungle Run is Apple’s pick for app of the year, as reported by The Australian. Our very own Adam Ghiggino reviewed it and loved it too, as you can read in his review here.
  • NEWS: A little bird by the name of Joystiq reports that Disney Interactive will be revealing a new game in its stable next month, intriguingly titled Disney Infinity. No word on what it could be, but speculation is rife it may be similar to Toy Box, a series that sees Disney and Pixar interacting across games on multiple platforms.
  • NEWS: A sucker for indie bundles? Then Christmas has come early for you, with Indie Royale’s suitably titled Xmas Bundle 2.0. The bundle includes Colour Bind, Offspring Fling!, Serious Sam Double D, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, Puzzle Bots and Little Kingdom for Windows, Steam or Desura. Pay $8 or more and you’ll also have access Yoann Turpin’s album, titled Rhythm’n’Bits. If it sounds like your cup of tea, get it quick – more people that buy, the pricier the bundle becomes.
  • NEWS: Still don’t have enough games in your collection? If you own an Xbox 360, you’re in luck. The Xbox Live Marketplace has kicked off its ‘Countdown to 2013’ game sale which will run until New Year’s Day. Arcade games such as Jet Set Radio aside, you can net some big fish, such as the Lego games, at discounted prices.
  • NEWS: Sure, you may save loads with the Xbox Live game sale, but that will be for naught if you’re a Half-Life 2 fan. Figure maker NECA has announced that a 1:1 Gravity Gun replica will be available next year, as you can see below. No word on pricing yet, although the company has said that the replica will be produced in greater quantities than the highly limited Portal Gun replicas.
