Battlefield 1 Announced

May 7, 2016

EA and DICE have brought the noise overnight and have announced the latest Battlefield game, Battlefield 1, with an excellent looking announcement trailer. Yes, you read that right, after going from Battlefield 1942 to Battlefield 2 through 4 and Battlefield Hardline, EA and DICE have taken a leaf out of Microsoft’s book and gone back in time to Battlefield 1. Battlefield 1 is returning to history and will be set during World War 1, shucking the present day and near future settings of recent Battlefield games. As well as 64 player multiplayer matches, DICE are also stating that their destruction engine is better than ever, making it almost sound like the destruction found in Red Faction: Guerilla.

Along with the stock standard edition of Battlefield 1, you will also be able to get your hands on the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition  which comes with the Red Baron Lawrence of Arabia Packs, as well as 3 days early access to the game and other bonuses.

There is also a Collector’s Edition as well, shown below, that comes with a 14″ statue, steelbook, cloth propaganda posted, messenger pigeon tube, playing cards and a patch. Currently there is no confirmation that the Collector’s Edition will have the same extras as the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, but it will definitely receive the Hellfighter Pack that comes with all preorders. The Hellfighter pack contains themed items inspired by the Harlem Hellfighters infantry regimen and 7 days early access to a new post-release map.

Battlefield 1 will release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on Friday October 21st. Stay tuned for more details during the EA PLAY press conference at 6:00am AEST on June 13th.
