At Rocket Chainsaw, we try to use the entire scale from 1-10 for our scores. On our scale, ’5′ represents an average game, so games that score 6 or above are considered ‘good’, and games that score 4 or below are considered below average or ‘poor’. 10 does not represent a ‘perfect’ game, but simply an amazing experience. Here’s the breakdown:
– An awful game with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, that could potentially be unplayable.
– A very bad game that technically functions, but is otherwise of no interest.
– A bad game that may have one or two redeeming qualities.
– A below average game that has some good qualities, which are unfortunately outweighed by the bad.
– An average game that has some merit, although is held back by technical or creative faults.
– A good game that will appeal to anyone interested in the genre.
– A really good game that is highly enjoyable to fans of the genre, and may be of interest to newcomers as well.
– A great game that every gamer should give a chance if the premise appeals to them.
– A highly recommended title that shines with quality in almost every aspect.
– An amazing, unmissable experience.
